At a glance

Department of Archeology is one of the oldest departments of the sub-continent. In 1861, the Directorate of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), India sub-continent, started its journey. Following the power, the headquarters of Archeology Department of Bangladesh was established in Dhaka. In 1983, Regional Office was established in 4 divisions, including the headquarters in Dhaka, through departmental reconstruction. At present, the number of arithmetic preserved by the Directorate of Archeology in Khulna and Barisal division under Khulna Regional Office is 97 (seven ninety). Apart from this, there are 7 museum exhibitions, including 2 divisional museums, which provide visitors with a view to visit. Through those museums and places of worship, visitors, tourists and researchers are provided services.
