Vision and Mission

Bangladesh is very proud of its glorious tradition. For more than two and a half thousand years, different populations, ruling classes, and numerous buildings, cities, palaces, castles, temples, mosques, Bihar stairs and tombs have been built in this country. Although most of these traditions are of late, there is a marked number of cultural symbols still in the remote areas of this country which are well known as archaeological patterns. The Regional Directorate Office of the Department of Archeology engaged in the renovation, research, archaeological excavation and research in the southern part of the country's antiquities in the light of the Antiquities Act-1968 (Amendment-1976). Apart from this, there are 7 archaeological museums under the Regional Directorate Office of the Department of Archeology. Archaeological remains are being displayed through these museums. This department preserves and exhibits the revision of history and the renowned architectural structure through the discovery of ancient culture symbols scattered in remote areas of the country. Through the exhibition of various museums in the southern part of the country, local and foreign visitors, students and researchers are well-versed in the history and heritage of the southern Bengal. Currently there are 102 preserved archives under the Regional Directorate Office of the Department of Archeology. Among them are very important archeology of Sixty Dome Mosque, Bharat Bhayna, Damdam Pirsthan Dhibi and Barabazar.
